Raise your hand if you’re sick of cold weather (I’m over here waving emphatically!) So what’s my answer to riding out the storms? Hibernation, of course! I swear, if past life stuff is real, I was a bear in my previous existence. Seriously. Can you just imagine sleeping all winter (AND through child birth!), never having to shave your legs, eating sushi all day, and if someone gets on my nerves – eat ’em! Problem solved! LOL Sign me up!
There are just some things worth being awake for, though. Like chocolate. Am I right? Is there, literally, a more versatile ingredient in the world? From decadent desserts to savory meat dishes and everything in between, that innocent little cocoa bean really gets the job done right.
Which brings me to today’s recipe for Chocolate Lasagna (insert angels singing here). It takes decadence to a WHOLE new level. So, let’s get down to the how-to of it all! It’s super easy. Even a cheap, store brand brownie mix will do the job. Feel free to even customize it with other add-ins. I’m thinkin’ peppermint or candied oranges mixed in it would be divine!
1 milk chocolate brownie mix
Cream cheese filling (recipe below)
chocolate syrup (ice cream topping)
Mix brownie batter up necessary ingredients called for on the box. Spread on parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake at 350 until done (but not crispy). Cut into quarters and cool completely.
Cream cheese filling:
1 pk cream cheese, softened
1 C powdered sugar
1 C whipped topping
Mix together until thoroughly blended. Divide into fourths. Layer filling and brownie pieces as if making standard lasagna. Cut into pieces & drizzle with chocolate syrup.
If the brownie pieces are really crispy, ya might want to wait an hour or two, or even overnight, before eating. I know – The wait is a killer! But, it really IS best once softened up a bit. Of course, if you really can’t wait, I won’t judge! 😀 Grab a fork and dig in!
Please be sure to jump back on here and let me know what you think of it, too. Feel free to share this page with any other chocolate lovers in your life. Hope ya like it! As always, be sure to check out the other recipes at the top of the page here, too. Stay warm & keep smilin’!
